Automate contract review and drafting with Zapier

Initialed’s Zapier integration lets a Zap review a contract the moment it arrives, or draft one when a form is submitted. Send a PDF or Word file from Gmail, Google Drive, Outlook or anywhere else Zapier reaches, and get the summary, risk counts and a link back into the Zap.

You can also trigger the other direction: when a review or draft finishes in Initialed, start a Zap that posts it to Slack, logs it in Google Sheets or emails the link.

Status: Early access

The integration is built and is not in Zapier’s public App Directory yet. We are letting people in by request while we finish the listing.

How it works in a Zap

  1. 1

    Pick a trigger

A new email attachment, a file in a Drive folder, a form entry — anything that hands a contract to a Zap.

  2. 2

    Add an Initialed action

Use Review Contract to analyze a file or pasted text, or Draft Contract to draft from a plain-language request. Sign in to Initialed once to connect.

  3. 3

    Wait for the result

By default the step waits until the review or draft is finished, so the next step gets the summary and the link — no polling to build.

  4. 4

Send it where your team works

Post the summary and top risks to Slack, add a row to Google Sheets, or email the link to whoever signs.

What’s in the integration

Review Contract (action)

Reviews a PDF or .docx up to 25 MB, or pasted text. Returns the summary, risk counts, a preview of the top risks and a link to the full review.

Draft Contract (action)

Drafts from a plain-language request, with an optional state and details. Returns the title, status and a link to the draft.

Review Completed and Draft Completed (triggers)

Start a Zap when any review or draft on your account finishes — including ones you started on the website.

Find Review and Find Draft (searches)

Look up an existing review or draft by its ID inside a Zap.

Example Zaps

New email attachment → review → Slack summary

  1. Gmail “New Attachment” (or Outlook, for emails with attachments).
  2. Initialed Review Contract: contract file is the attachment; set your side to your company name.
  3. Slack “Send Channel Message” with the summary, top risks and link.

New file in a Drive folder → review

  1. Google Drive “New File in Folder”, for example Contracts/Inbox.
  2. Initialed Review Contract: contract file is the new file.
  3. Gmail or Email by Zapier: send yourself the document name, summary and link.

Review finished → log it

  1. Initialed Review Completed.
  2. Google Sheets “Create Row” with the document name, type, high/medium/low counts and link.

Form submission → draft

  1. Typeform or Jotform “New Entry”.
  2. Initialed Draft Contract: the request is “NDA with {company}” and the details are the form answers.
  3. Email yourself the link to the draft.

Same rules as the website

The integration runs on your Initialed account, so your credits, rate limits and free-preview rules apply exactly as they do on initialed.ai. On a free account the top risks in a Zap never include a high-severity finding; the count of held-back risks comes back with the result, and the full review is on initialed.ai behind sign-in. Frequently asked

Is the Initialed app in the Zapier App Directory?

Not yet. It is in early access, by request. When it is listed in Zapier’s directory this page will say so.

Do I need an Initialed account?

Yes. You sign in to your Initialed account the first time you connect, and every review or draft the Zap creates lands in that account. You also need a Zapier account.

How long does a review take?

Reviews usually finish in about two minutes. The Review Contract action can wait for the result, so the next step in your Zap receives the finished summary.

What file types and sizes work?

PDF and Word (.docx) files up to 25 MB, or pasted text. Scanned PDFs are handled with OCR.

Does it use my Initialed credits?

Yes. Zap-created reviews and drafts count against your Initialed credits and limits the same way they do on the website.
