Is there an MCP server for drafting contracts?

Yes. Initialed AI runs a remote MCP server at https://mcp.initialed.ai/mcp. Any MCP client with OAuth sign-in can connect with a free Initialed AI account and draft contracts using three tools: start_draft, answer_intake and get_draft. Drafts follow the website’s plans, which include one free credit a month.

Drafts started through the MCP server follow the same rules and pricing as drafts started on initialed.ai. The server offers drafting tools; reviews run on initialed.ai or through the REST API.

Connect in three steps

Add the server URL

In your client’s settings, add a remote MCP server with the URL above. It uses the Streamable HTTP transport.

Sign in and approve

Your client opens an Initialed AI sign-in page. Sign in or create a free account, check the app name, and approve.

Ask for a contract

Ask your assistant for the agreement you need. It starts the draft, relays the questions, and returns a link when it’s ready.

The tools

start_draft

Starts a draft from a request in the user’s words, with optional jurisdiction and details. Returns a session_id.

answer_intake

Sends the user’s answers to Initialed AI’s questions so drafting can continue.

get_draft

Waits up to about 40 seconds for news, then returns the stage, any questions, and when ready the sections, open fields and a link.

Safe by design

Every tool carries read-only and destructive hints, and the server acts only with the access you approve.

Is the Initialed AI MCP server free?

It is free to connect with a free Initialed AI account. Drafts started through it follow the website’s plans, and the free plan includes one credit a month to unlock a full draft. Extra drafts cost one credit each.

Which MCP clients work?

Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in and dynamic client registration. Clients that only run local servers can connect through a stdio bridge. Each AI platform sets its own rules for which plans can add custom servers.

Can the MCP server review contracts?

Not yet; it offers drafting tools. To review a contract, upload it on initialed.ai, where you can preview its top risks free, or use the REST API.

Where do drafts go?

Into your Initialed AI account. Your assistant sees the questions, progress and a summary; the full contract stays on initialed.ai behind sign-in, and it is never used to train AI models.

How do I disconnect?

Remove the server in your MCP client. To revoke its access to your account as well, email hello@initialed.ai.
