How it will work
Installation opens when the add-in is listed in Microsoft AppSource. Then:
- 1
Add Initialed AI to Outlook or Word
Find “Initialed AI” under Get Add-ins (Add-ins in newer versions) and add it. It appears as a Review contract button on an email, or on Word’s Home tab.
- 2
Sign in to Initialed AI in the panel
The panel opens beside your email or document. Sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google. A free account works.
- 3
Pick the contract and your side
In Outlook, choose the attachment if the email has more than one. In Word, review the document you have open. Then say which party you are so findings are scored from your side.
- 4
Read the summary, open the full review
The panel updates by itself while the review runs, usually about two minutes, then shows the summary and top risks. A link opens the full review on initialed.ai to edit and export.
Good for
Contracts that arrive in Outlook
Check a vendor agreement, lease or freelance contract from the email it came in, before you reply.
Agreements you edit in Word
Review the draft you or the other side sent as a Word file, without uploading it anywhere else first.
Starting from a blank page
Describe the agreement you need in the Word panel and finish the draft on initialed.ai.
What’s in the add-in
Review contract in Outlook
Reads the PDF or Word attachment on the email you have open, asks which one if there are several, then starts a review.
Review this document in Word
Reviews the document open in Word, the same way a Word file uploaded on initialed.ai is reviewed.
Start a draft from Word
Type what you need in plain language and the add-in starts a draft, then links you to initialed.ai to answer a few questions and edit it.
Same review as the website
It runs the same review as initialed.ai, so findings, risk levels and free-preview rules match what you would see on the web.
Only the contract you choose
In Outlook the add-in reads the email you have open and the attachment you pick, not your mailbox. In Word it reads the document you review. Full results live on initialed.ai behind sign-in; the panel shows the summary and top risks. Your contracts are never used to train AI models. Documents are processed by Initialed AI’s AI provider to produce a review; see the Privacy Policy for how data is handled. Privacy Policy
Frequently asked
Can I install the add-in now?
Not yet. It has been submitted to Microsoft AppSource for Outlook and Word and is waiting for Microsoft’s certification. Email hello@initialed.ai and we’ll tell you when it can be installed. Meanwhile you can upload the same contract on initialed.ai.
Which versions of Outlook and Word will it work in?
Outlook and Word on the web and in current desktop versions. Outlook on phones is not supported.
Will it read all of my email?
No. It works on the email you have open and the attachment you choose when you select Review contract. It does not scan your inbox.
Do I need a Microsoft 365 work account?
No. You sign in to your own Initialed AI account inside the panel, with an email code or Google, so it does not depend on your Microsoft account type. Your organization’s admin may control which add-ins can be installed.
Will a review use my credits?
Yes. Reviews started from Outlook or Word count against your Initialed AI credits the same way as on the website, and a free account sees the same preview as on the web.
Is this an official Microsoft product?
No. Initialed AI is an independent product. Microsoft, Outlook, Word and Microsoft 365 are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.
