How it works
- 1
Open the contract
Open an email with a PDF or Word attachment in Gmail, or open a document in Google Docs, and open the Initialed panel.
- 2
Connect your Initialed account
The first time, a Connect card opens initialed.ai so you can link your Google account to your Initialed account.
- 3
Choose your side
Pick which party you are — client or contractor, tenant or landlord — so findings are scored from your perspective.
- 4
Read the summary, open the review
The panel shows the summary and top risks. A link opens the full review on initialed.ai, where you can edit and export to Word.
What’s in the add-on
Review contract in Gmail
Reads the PDF or Word attachment on the message you have open — and asks which one if there are several — then starts a review.
Review this document in Docs
Reviews the Google Doc you have open, after you grant access to that one document.
Start a draft from Docs
Type what you need in plain language and the add-on starts a draft, then links you to initialed.ai to answer questions and edit it.
Same review as the website
It runs the same pipeline as initialed.ai, so findings, risk levels and free-preview rules match what you would see on the web.
Narrow permissions by design
In Gmail the add-on works on the message you have open and its attachment, not your whole mailbox. In Docs, access is granted per document. Full results live on initialed.ai behind sign-in; the panel shows the summary and top risks. Documents are processed by Initialed’s AI provider to produce a review; see the Privacy Policy for how data is handled. Privacy Policy
Frequently asked
Is the add-on in the Google Workspace Marketplace?
Not yet. It is in early access, by request. When it is listed this page will say so.
Can it read all of my email?
No. In Gmail it works on the message you have open and that message’s attachment when you choose Review contract. It does not scan your inbox.
Which Google Docs can it see?
Only a document you open it on, and only after you grant access to that document.
Does it work on files stored in Drive, like a .docx opened in Docs?
Yes. Word and PDF files opened in Docs are read from Drive, and native Google Docs are exported for review.
Does a review use my credits?
Yes. Reviews started from Gmail or Docs count against your Initialed credits the same way as on the website, and a free account sees the same preview as on the web.
Is this an official Google product?
No. Initialed AI is an independent product. Google, Gmail, Google Docs and Google Workspace are trademarks of Google LLC.
